Operations Strategy Finance Manager

Affirm aims to provide better financial products to improve the lives of consumers. We are looking for an Operations Strategy Finance Manager to support the operations organization in scaling product offering and expansion in existing and new geographies. The ideal candidates will have a proven eye for business and judgment with the ability to drive key results in an environment with conflicting priorities. This role requires a strong background in financial and operations modeling and exceptional communication/presentation skills.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead the financial management function within Operations, ensuring the organization is meeting all applicable metrics
  • Be responsible for all the metrics vital to the success of Affirm operations
  • Build and maintain a robust and granular Operations Expansion model to monitor cost actuals versus budget and versus forecast
  • Develop annual budget in collaboration with cost center owners and corporate finance
  • Oversee current and future expenses accurately, forecast operating cost and financial metrics
  • Critically evaluate the need for all expenses, and seek opportunities for savings and underfunded programs
  • Thoroughly evaluate the soundness of savings and financial justification calculation developed outside this unit.
  • Conduct root cause analyses on missed metrics and report findings across various levels of the organization
  • Identify outliers and report root cause to workstream owners to apply corrective actions and follow up on results
  • Conduct analyses to surface key insights into operations

What We Look For:

  • 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, planning and strategy in an Operations organization with high levels of operational complexities
  • Highly proficient in Excel and Google Sheets; experience in SQL
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in related fields (i.e. Economics, Finance, Engineering, Math, Statistics, Computer Science)
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving skills and strategic mindset
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and achieve desired outcomes
  • Strong communications skills and ability to explain models, analysis, plans etc. in a succinct and easily digestible manner to all audience types
