Overview
The Corporate Financial Reporting team is responsible for reporting the financial activity of Chick-fil-A Inc. and its subsidiaries on a monthly and annual basis, according to U.S. GAAP requirements. As the footprint of Chick-fil-A, Inc. and related entities continues to grow, the need for transparency into the direct & indirect costs incurred to support each entity will likewise increase. This role is responsible for managing the shared financial costs and/or services provided to our subsidiaries and related entities. The Intercompany Accountant will work cross-functionally with leaders across multiple business lines and Chick-fil-A, Inc. departments to coordinate accounting, budgeting, and reporting on shared costs and/or services. The role will work with limited supervision to calculate the fees, coordinate with stakeholders, and make reporting available to leadership.
Responsibilities
- Oversight of application of the cost allocation policy across Chick-fil-A, its subsidiaries and related parties, both domestic and international
- Determine and perform appropriate intercompany accounting activities (journal entries, review/reconciliation, reporting)
- Ensure compliance with international cross charging requirements as necessary
- Prepare management reporting deemed necessary due to intercompany and/or cost allocation charges
- Manage intercompany settlements
- Calculate costs to be charged to subsidiaries & related entities for services performed according to the accounting policy of the Parent
- Research and identify shared costs and/or services provided across the organization to various subsidiaries and related entities
- Maintain reconciliation between costs incurred and costs billed
- Maintain tracking mechanisms to ensure that charge-backs are being executed appropriately
- Coordinate with accounting staff in each entity to ensure charges are billed, accounted, and paid appropriately
- Participate in reporting for leadership to explain the level of Chick-fil-A, Inc. investment in subsidiaries & related entities
- Support the execution of continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality of cost allocation to vertical business lines and related entities
Minimum Qualifications
- CPA or CPA Candidate
- 2 years of professional experience
- Strong organizational and problem solving skills
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills
