Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) is currently seeking a Financial Analyst / Principal Financial Analyst with Earned Value Management Systems experience.

Role Description:
Provide direct support to the Program Management Office (PMO) and Control Account Managers (CAMs) on the planning, implementation, and monitoring of Earned Value Management Systems processes on the next phase of NGDS’s successful AARGM missile. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining an Earned Value Management (EVM) baseline that interfaces with an MS Project resource-loaded schedule. This position will help drive effective program execution relative to cost performance, delivery performance, and effective program resource planning. Successful candidates will analyze program performance (historical and predictive), monitor the forecasted completion data, and support recommendations made to the program managers and leads.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Working with Program Management, IPTs/CAMs, and functional business analysts to perform detailed cost/schedule planning, earned value variance analysis, identification of cost/schedule problems, and developing corrective action plans.
  • Interfacing with program finance and program office for monthly financial forecasts, issues, concerns, and status
  • Strictly adhering to American National Standards Institute/Electronic Industries Alliance Standard 748 (ANSI/EIA-748), Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and associated internal company procedures
  • Developing and maintaining program artifacts and documentation
  • Integrating data from Microsoft Project to Cobra and ensuring accuracy
  • Using Cobra, and Winsight/Empower to create, analyze, and submit monthly Integrated Program Management Report (IPMR) to customer in accordance with Earned Value Management standards, as well as, preparing monthly EV metrics for internal/external meetings
  • Tracking spending to ensure adequate funding is maintained, financial metric development, & analysis and reporting in support of monthly program reviews
  • Fostering an environment of integrity, establishing relationships, and maintaining communication with stakeholders at multiple levels
  • Timely and accurate Estimate at Completion development, analysis, and reporting
  • Direct involvement in streamlining of processes, tools, and best practices
  • Facilitate and conduct EVM compliance reviews with DCMA and other government oversight agencies (Internal Baseline Reviews/Joint Surveillance Reviews), as well as other related audits

Basic Qualifications for Financial Analyst (A02):

  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Secret Clearance within a timeframe set by management; U.S. Citizenship required
  • Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years’ experience or a Master’s degree with 1+ year experience within in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • Working knowledge of and familiarity with Earned Value Management processes and principles
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Power Point, and Word
  • Ability to effectively and respectfully communicate with all levels of management, both verbally and written
  • Proven experience working in team environment with all levels of management
  • Demonstrated experience in working independently and being proactive
  • Experience managing multiple projects with demanding deadlines
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills, while maintaining attention to detail and effective time management/organization

Preferred Qualifications for Financial Analyst (A02):

  • Current active Secret clearance
  • Familiarity with: Deltek Costpoint, IBM Cognos
  • Proficient in Deltek Cobra (or similar EVM tools such as MPM), Winsight, Empower, MS Project
  • Experience with Cost Plus contract types in an Aerospace & Defense or Government environment
  • 2+ years Earned Value Management experience

Basic Qualifications for Principal Financial Analyst (A03):

  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Secret Clearance within a timeframe set by management; U.S. Citizenship required
  • Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years’ experience or a Master’s degree with 4+ years’ experience within in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • Working knowledge of and familiarity with Earned Value Management processes and principles
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Power Point, and Word
  • Ability to effectively and respectfully communicate with all levels of management, both verbally and written
  • Proven experience working in team environment with all levels of management
  • Demonstrated experience in working independently and being proactive
  • Experience managing multiple projects with demanding deadlines
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills, while maintaining attention to detail and effective time management/organization

Preferred Qualifications for Principal Financial Analyst (A03):

Salary Range: $68,100 USD – $102,100 USD
Salary Range 2: $83,800 USD – $125,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
