Senior Financial Analyst

Job location: our office in Ottawa, Canada, or Toronto, Canada. 

About the team

Reporting to the Senior Financial Planning & Analysis Manager, the Senior Financial Analyst will provide ongoing business support and performance measurement to key stakeholders to meet our objective of maintaining continuous profitable growth. The SFA will focus on supporting our Customer Support, Hosting Infrastructure, and R&D Engineering groups within Kinaxis, and will be an exceptional partner and trusted advisor to key stakeholders. Our ideal candidate is a detail-oriented and results driven critical thinker, and a proactive team player.

What you will do

  • Data extraction and analysis to develop, prepare and present financial data, results and recommendations that are timely, accurate, reliable, and relevant for effective business decision making
  • Lead quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting processes for functional groups by collaborating with other key stakeholders and collecting and consolidating data from relevant areas
  • Deeply understand the nature of the functional group you are supporting; Support their evolving business needs through financial analysis by understanding and modeling key drivers and metrics.
  • Develop actionable management reporting and dashboards that clearly communicate actual performance vs. budget and key metrics.
  • Make and implement recommendations to improve processes and evolve our ability to provide answers to recurring and ad-hoc requests, including self-serve reporting
  • Work with functional group stakeholders to support their evolving business needs and accurately
  • Work closely with the HR Business Partner team to provide consistent communication of objectives and adjustments to the forecast

What we are looking for

  • Post secondary degree in business, finance, or related field, with a CPA designation or an MBA preferred.
  • 3-5 years post-designation experience, preferably with a global company in the technology sector; background in FP&A or experience with support or product R&D groups is an asset
  • Experience with accounting and financial planning systems, ideally NetSuite and Planful
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent communication skills, including being able to clearly communicate financial information to business stakeholders, along with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong business acumen and proficiency in financial modeling
  • An entrepreneurial, enthusiastic, and customer service attitude
  • Able to manage multiple and ever-changing priorities and working to deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment
