The Position
You will join the Central Ops finance team within AWS Infrastructure Finance. In this role you will be the primary global finance partner to the Director of Central Operations. You will drive budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and reporting for the central ops organization with the support of local data center operations. You will define and maintain internal finance controls for all central operations’ transactions and activity.

Central Operations team is responsible for 1) driving consistent operational efficiency via standard operating procedures, 2) executing automation initiatives, and 3) providing analytics for rhythms of the business.

The Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key business partner for Central Operations teams.
  • Provide financial analysis for global process changes affecting data centers. Identify defects or waste in processes, and assist teams to make case for automation funding.
  • Provide analysis for new technology entering data centers including quantifying labor and material impact.
  • Provide analysis for the impact of automation projects to arrive at the expected productivity impact.
  • Invent ways to continually manage the business at a fine grain in a highly scalable manner while enabling crisp communication of key drivers to senior leadership
  • Help prepare and deliver business reviews to the senior management team regarding progress and roadblocks to program deliverable
  • Drive month end reporting and variance analysis of actual spend versus projection.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 8+ years of finance experience or a related analytical field.
  • 8+ years of finance experience or a related analytical field.
  • BA/BS in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or a highly analytical field (e.g., Math, and Computer Science).
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in finance, OR master’s degree and 5 years of experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent writing, communications and project management skills with a proven track record of writing and presenting to a wide range of audiences.
  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize workload
  • A work ethic based on a strong desire to exceed expectations
  • Ability to dissent, while building trust with your business partners
  • Solid business judgment and controllership focus
  • MBA or similar degree is preferred.
