Your Opportunity

The Controller’s Department is responsible for corporate-wide functional expertise in the areas of Accounting Policy, Corporate Accounting, Consolidation of Financial Results, and Financial Reporting to the Board of Directors, Executive Committee, and Securities and Exchange Commission and other regulators.

As part of the Corporate Controller’s Department, the SEC Reporting group is responsible for the preparation and filing of all audited financial documents, SEC filings (i.e., 10-Qs, 10-Ks, 8-Ks, 17a-5s); related earnings release materials (8-K) and investor presentations ensuring compliance with SEC rules and regulations, US GAAP guidance and consistency across all communications.

What you are good at

  • Assist in the design and preparation of external and internal financial reports, including audited financial documents and SEC filings.
  • Research and assist with implementation of accounting and regulatory guidance to ensure accurate and relevant disclosures in audited financial documents and SEC filings.
  • Build and maintain close coordination with business partners in the accounting, reporting, finance, technical accounting policy, treasury, investor relations, legal, and other functional business areas to ensure proper input into internal and external financial reporting.
  • Assist in meeting the Company’s reporting requirements over its broker-dealer entities.
  • Continuously work to enhance and streamline reporting processes and controls.
  • Support internal and external audits and regulatory examinations.
  • Carry out and maintain an effective internal control environment.
  • Ad hoc projects as needed.

What you have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA license required.
  • 2-3 years of U.S. GAAP accounting and financial reporting experience, public accounting experience required.
  • Direct experience with SEC reporting and preparation of financial documents and footnotes of public companies.
  • Current understanding of GAAP, financial reporting principles and SEC regulatory requirements. Relevant broker/dealer, bank or other financial services experience a plus.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail with high degree of accuracy.
  • Strong desire to grow and develop professionally.
  • Ability and desire to build and cultivate positive relationships inside and outside of team.
  • Intermediate MS Office skills required; advanced Excel skills required.
  • PeopleSoft, Workiva software, and XBRL experience a plus.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment with the ability to balance multiple priorities.

Colorado Compensation
Target Total Compensation – 78,200 – 140,800.
