Sr. Lease Accountant

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of transactions related to lease accounting including facility, automotive, and equipment leases for Americas and certain foreign operations. This includes all lessor and lessee transactions.
- Manage the Visual Lease accounting software including uploads for all new leases, adjustments for existing leases and disposals for all terminated leases
- Review all lease agreements and ensure that all lease terms in Visual Lease are consistent with the lease documents
- Work with Asurion GAAP experts on complicated leases to determine the proper accounting treatment
- Manage the lessor program and coordinate billing with revenue accounting to ensure all assets are properly billed to the lessees
- Provide and upload all general ledger leasing transactions to Americas general ledgers including all building, automotive and equipment leases
- Provide all general ledger transactions to any Asurion foreign entities that utilize the Visual Lease system
- Perform all Blackline reconciliations for all lease balance sheet accounts.
- Provide PWC audit requests in a timely manner for audit engagements
- Work with other departments on accounting issues in a professional manner
- Actively engage and participate in other business demands, as required
What You’ll Bring to the Team:
- This position requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting; a current CPA Certification (or working towards certification) is a plus
- External or internal audit experience is a plus
- Master’s Degree in accounting a plus
- Position requires 3+ years’ experience in accounting, audit, or finance
- Self-motivated, possesses great initiative
- Strong technical accounting skills, accounting theory, and GAAP principles
- Experience and detailed knowledge of ASC 842 lease accounting treatment
- Systems aptitude and familiarity with accounting software packages
- Able to manage multiple priorities while still meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Detail oriented and strong organizational skills
- Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from direct supervisor to accomplish tasks and objectives
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (both verbal and written) at various levels of management and with external agencies
