Job summary
The US Consumer organization seeks a Senior Financial Analyst to support reverse logistics, recommerce, and the end-to-end analysis supporting products which are returned by customers. Consumer Electronics sells high ASP items, highly desired by customers, but inherently lower margin. Managing returned goods and partnering across the company to improve recovery rates is a huge business opportunity filled with complex issues and root problems to diagnose. This is a high impact role, including strategic and operational reviews with Steam members, that requires strong leadership and the proven ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders. The Senior Financial Analyst will own all aspects of developing and reviewing metrics with business leadership to help unlock key financial and business insights.

This is a new role born out of learnings that demonstrate how much value is available by focusing here on a daily basis. As such, the successful candidate will be a self-starter with effective business partnership experience and proven abilities to manage complex projects and dive deep into the details when needed. This person will partner with multiple leaders across several teams including operations, transportation, corporate relo/recom, retail category leaders, third party managers, merchandising, and buyer/seller abuse teams to provide strategic guidance, tactical direction, and decision support.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Perform financial deep dive analysis, reporting, ad-hoc project assessment, and financial modeling using a broad range of Amazon tools and Excel
  • Partner across the US Consumer and CE Finance teams to drive collaboration, automation, and an engaging, supportive, inclusive culture
  • Drive the core financial processes for the teams including developing Annual Operating Plans, long range Strategic Plans, and Monthly/Quarterly Business Reviews
  • Complete complex business modeling and analysis to drive revenue growth, identify operating improvements, deep dive on cost structures, and analyze business opportunities/investments (ROI/NPV)
  • Influence business decisions with effective verbal and written communication, data driven analysis and modeling, and presentation of options and alternatives
  • Facilitate financial review meetings with business groups and work with business managers to ensure effective finance and cost management
  • Perform root cause analysis and uncover core issues using data, then assist leadership to improve and create new measures for financial performance
  • Recommend, develop, and implement policies and programs that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its profitability
  • Work with data source providers and technology teams to ensure that key data is timely and accurate

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of finance experience or a related analytical field.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA, CPA or CFA preferred
  • Demonstrated financial acumen and/or experience in the areas of forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and data interpretation
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Measured experience demonstrating problem solving and root cause analysis
  • Highly detail oriented with proven strong business sense
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines, prioritize workloads and achieve effective results in a fast-paced and, dynamic environment
  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools and providing recommendations based on results of ad hoc analyses to management for strategic decision-making
  • Experience building models for business forecasting, variance analysis, and problem solving
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
