About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Financial Accountant to support the Broker Dealer and Traded Products Group Controller team within the Corporate and Investment Banking Capital Markets group. This role requires technical knowledge of various product types including Derivatives, Investment Banking, Equities, Repos and Reverse Repos, Securities Lend / Borrow, Asset Backed Finance, Foreign Exchange and Municipal Products.

In this role, you will:

  • Act as a lead Consultant for financial accounting related matters for lines of business and other control functions
  • Provide technical expertise regarding accounting issues, regulatory information and research, major transactions, product development and policy changes with the ability to influence management and business partners
  • Communicate practices and procedures for proper financial control functions in accordance with the company’s internal controls policies
  • Lead implementation of the most complex projects or initiatives impacting multiple lines of business or across the enterprise including providing data for preparing and reviewing financial and regulatory reports
  • Serve as backup for manager on day-to-day operations including complex problem resolution and accurate timely review of work and approvals
  • Review various SEC and Regulatory Reporting submissions to ensure the completeness and accuracy of Financial Statements including preparation of various foot note disclosures

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Finance, Accounting, Analytics, Financial Reporting, Accounting Reporting or Risk Reporting experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • A BS/BA degree or higher in one or a combination of the following: Finance, Accounting, Analytics
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and/or Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Public Accounting Experience
  • Accounting Operations experience
  • Experience with Essbase, SQL queries
  • Experience with data analytics tools such as Alteryx, Power BI, Python
  • Ability to identify and present processes/operational enhancements
  • Ability to articulate issues, risks, and proposed solutions to various levels of staff and senior management
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Leadership experience to effectively drive results, provide feedback/direction, and build relationships with leaders across several lines of business
  • Ability to influence, partner, and negotiate with individuals to gain commitment to accomplish business goals
