Johnson & Johnson Global functions is recruiting for an FP&A COE Global Functions Finance Director. This position may be based in Hopewell, New Jersey; Titusville, New Jersey; New Brunswick, New Jersey; Raritan, New Jersey; and PA corporate Johnson & Johnson locations.

The FP&A COE Global Functions Finance Director will lead and provide oversight for the financial planning, forecasting, analysis, and reporting on behalf of the FP&A COE to Global Functions group. This role will be critical in developing relationships with the Regional Function Business Unit Finance teams and key business leaders in support of the Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, Procurement, and Facilities organizations, leading the development and management of their functional budgets as well as delivering core Financial Planning & Analysis activities across all sectors throughout multiple regions.

Leadership of the financial quarterly processes (Actual reporting and Forecast cycles), inclusive of maintaining and delivering a strong control and compliance environment.

Additionally, this director will enable and deploy the Business Unit COE Global Function CFIN, EPM initiatives to enable the global standards of Opex Mgmt and will serve as a key role in implementing and deploying new FP&A capabilities to advance process, technology and talent skills.

The Director will demonstrate the Leadership Imperatives of Connect, Shape, and Deliver with regard to performance by utilizing performance and data driven insights and metrics to identify new opportunities, efficiencies, or solutions to meet business needs. This includes challenging the status quo, leveraging business / financial acumen and operational work flows, systems linkages and value stream mapping skills to drive continuous improvement.

Will lead all aspects of a team of 2 Senior Managers and approximately 7 Managers. The director is responsible for providing strong talent development and people leadership. The director must promote a work environment that fosters diverse perspectives, backgrounds and talent to generate innovative ideas. Engage in transparent and constructive conversation, enabling a high performing team and strong collaboration among workgroups.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Business Plan and Quarterly Update Support and Analysis
  • Financial oversight of the actual closing process, strong financial integrity and compliance
  • Standard and ad-hoc reporting and analytics execution

Budget Management and Business Partnering

  • Will support approx. $2.0 Bn of global functions operating expense (Finance, HR, Procurement, IT, and JRD Global Admin) across all sectors providing financial guidance and direction to over ~30 Vice Presidents/Directors in the functions
  • Significant insights will be required to coordinate Information Technology financial support due to the complexities associated with large project and capital appropriations in this space

Standardization / Advancing Capabilities

  • Enable and deploy CFIN, EPM initiatives to enable the global standards of Opex Management
  • Financial oversight of the Tm1 Global Functions instance, as it relates to Global Functions and its dependencies into the Commercial Tm1 instances

Relationship Management and Collaboration

  • Own the development Customer Service Agreements (SLAs) and link critical service demand/change requests into the Op’s Mgmt team
  • Oversight of the Global Functions Service Catalog activities / coordinate non-core / stranded activity action plans
  • Work with the Regional Ops Mgmt in coordination of key global functions service delivery strategies and enablers

  • Ensure policies and procedures are followed


  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required; preferably with a major in Finance, Economics, Data Analytics or Accounting
  • MBA, financial certification in CPA, CMA etc. or another equivalent is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of finance and/or accounting required
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (i.e. Pivot Tables, Formulas, VLOOKUP functions) is required.
  • People management experience required
  • Experience designing, developing, implementing, and managing standardized operational finance processes within a global organization is required.
  • Outstanding business and financial acumen, including SOX and compliance expertise is required.
  • Experience in SAP S/4HANA, Central Finance, Data-warehouse, solution integration and RPA/ AI technology is preferred.
  • Experience working in a complex, multi-ERP / system environment is preferred
  • Ability to work in ambiguous situations, proactively identifying and mitigating process risks within a cross-functional, global organization and effectively lead and govern decision-making bodies is required.
  • The ability to partner & work independently with associates at all levels of the organization, including senior management, and handling multiple tasks simultaneously is required.
  • Strong conflict management, communication and framing skills along with proven interpersonal, negotiating and influencing skills are required.
  • The preferred location for this role is currently Hopewell, NJ. The role can be based in other on-site J&J locations in New Jersey in order to support a flexible workstyle environment. The role may require up to 10% domestic and/or international travel.
