Senior Financial Analyst, AWS Support Finance

Job summary

Amazon seeks a Senior Financial Analyst on the AWS Support Finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the fastest growing divisions within Amazon. As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will work closely with finance and business leaders to develop financial and analytical insights to assist in evaluating business performance, and identifying paths to improve the overall planning and forecasting process. You will also provide strategy support to the business partners.

Primary responsibilities include:

Lead short- and long-term financial planning

Build financial models for cost management

Provide strategic support to key business
initiatives and investments

Present financial summaries and business
insights to senior management

Tighten internal controls for program
spending and cost tracking

The successful candidate will have shown experiences in past roles influencing business owners and supporting decision-making in rapidly evolving environments. This role requires a self-starter with strong modeling skills, a keen attention to details, and ability to manage overall business effectively. This role also has regular interaction with executives and various business units across Amazon and therefore requires strong interpersonal and communication skills. In addition, this role requires strong business sense and capability to independently drive finance and business partnerships.

Key job responsibilities
Key responsibilities of the role include:
• Financial planning, forecasting, analysis, processes and controls to support management reporting.
• Drive the business to develop challenging goals, business plans and financial plans and then help the business achieve these results.
• Play a critical role in cost management, controllership, decision-making, and metrics development.
• Partner with the finance leaders to produce monthly and quarterly business updates for AWS’s support executives and business partners.
. Lead the development of financial models that aid in key decision-making
. Perform ad-hoc analysis as needed and present findings to senior management.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years of finance experience or a related analytical field.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• MBA or Master’s in a related field
• Advanced knowledge of SQL
• Ability to present ideas to a group of senior level managers
• Comfort with ambiguity and creative problem-solving
• Advanced analytical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
