Financial Analyst III – Services

General Summary

We are seeking a Financial Analyst 3 to support the Siemens Digital industries Software (DI SW) US Services Organization with revenue recognition, Professional Services financial contract review and financial support activities. This role will drive revenue, billing, and financial process consistency in the assigned services group, perform analyses on operating results, and help prepare forecasts. The Financial Analyst 3 will interact internally with DI SW team members, management, and executives, and occasionally with customers and suppliers. The role will report to the Services Finance Director and operate with minimal supervision. This role will be the financial focal point for the assigned groups’ queries and make recommendations to improve and support business activities.

Main activities

  • Drive revenue, billing, and financial process consistency in assigned services region.
  • Review and provide Revenue Recognition feedback on Professional Services contracts proposals to ensure compliance with DI SW standards making sure that all information is complete and accurate.
  • Review service invoicingevenue recognition for compliance with DI SW billing and revenue recognition guidelines.
  • Must have experience in P&L (Profit and Loss analysis).
  • Monitor assigned services region P&L. Prepare various journal entries and project financials.
  • Help prepare forecasts.
  • Participate in internal and external audit activities.
  • Assist in ongoing updates of group processes and procedure documentation.
  • Preparation and completion of other projects and tasks that may be required

Required Skills and Education

  • Fluent English is a must (the position supports the USA) with excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, and 3+ years relevant experience. CPA a plus.
  • Experience reading professional services engagement contracts and determining appropriate revenue recognition.
  • Solid understanding of general accounting, forecasting, financial management and analysis.
  • Knowledge of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).
  • Ability to handle pressure and manage tight deadlines.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Very detail oriented and meticulous.
  • Must be process driven.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Must be able to be firm in dealing with managers and project managers and be able to push back when necessary.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with Excel and the ability to develop pivot tables and formulas.
  • Sales Force, Hyperion, Essbase/SmartView, SAP and Business Objects experience desired.
