Summary:

Our data factory team is responsible for building the core data capabilities for Bamboo Health’s healthcare coordination platform. We partner with all types of entities in the healthcare continuum, collecting data in real time, applying our core business logic of patient care, deriving meanings from the data, delivering processed data to our customers, and materializing the results for consumption by other Bamboo Health products and applications.

In this position you will be exposed to and deliver technical solutions for complex problems in healthcare coordination. The ideal candidate has a demonstrable track record developing reliable, scalable, and high-performance large-scale software systems, has sharp critical thinking and analytical skills, and hand on experience in data modeling, data analysis, and machine learning, has a sound understanding of the fundamentals of computer science and software engineering.

What You’ll Do:

  • Working on resolving complex data science solutions with state-of-the-art technology.
  • Collaborating with product managers, data scientists, other software architects and engineers understanding product requirements, determining technical solutions, experimenting innovative solutions, and provide feedbacks.
  • Coding, testing, deploying software modules incorporating data science techniques, such as machine learning, data mining on large data sets using statistical models, graph models, text mining, etc.
  • Participating in design and code reviews to maintain our high development standards.
  • Participating in overall system architecture, scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Working with other talented engineers, defining our challenging technical culture, and helping to build a fast-growing team.

What Success Looks Like:

In 3 months…

  • Become familiar with the details of our business domain, development process, and codebase.
  • Ask questions and build healthcare industry knowledge.
  • Explore the design principles and technical direction of the existing system design, detailed design, and implementation.

In 6 months…

  • Participate in the design process
  • Develop a new feature or major enhancement from concept to delivery
  • Conduct code reviews for peers

In 12 months…

  • Demonstrate consistently delivering on feature development expectations
  • Suggest ideas for technical enhancements
  • Work as a strong partner to product, and data science team

What You Need:

  • A mission-driven focus with a passion for spearheading change in complex healthcare environments, awareness of interoperability in the healthcare domain, and healthcare technical trends.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years professional experience in software development.
  • Proficient in Python, Java or Kotlin, including knowledge of object-oriented design, data structure and algorithms.
  • Hands-on experience designing and implementing highly available and performant cloud-based platforms (AWS preferred).
  • Solid knowledge of data technology, and proficient in SQL. Experience manipulating data from various data sources. Streaming (Kafka, SQS, Kinesis), Relational and NoSQL Databases (Aurora Dynamo), Data Warehouse (Redshift), Data Lake(S3).
  • Familiarity with microservice based architecture and infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
