The Role
The APS 6 Records and Information Management Officer within the Joint Domain Centre (JDC) will have the opportunity to work across a broad spectrum of records, information and data management activities.
The duties include but are not limited to:
- Coordinate the day-to-day records management of the Joint Domain Centre, including security classified information to ensure compliance with the Archives Act 1983, Defence policies and guidance.
- Provide advice and guidance to stakeholders in relation to the life cycle of information and records management activities.
- Review records management policies, procedures and practices to achieve continuous improvement.
- Take initiative to investigate and recommend solutions for minor to complex issues and enquiries, and apply the skills, knowledge and experience necessary to provide advice and services.
- Get involved in other information management activities such as maintaining the Joint Domain Centre’s inward facing web environments.

Our Ideal Candidate
Our ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in records compliance management, be a team player and a real ‘people person’ that loves engaging with staff, providing records advice, and training staff on records management practices. You are a listener, and your excellent interpersonal, negotiation and verbal communication skills will be required to regularly liaise and coordinate with a broad range of stakeholders, including executives, contractors, APS and ADF members.
Well developed written communication skills will be required to develop internal processes and documentation, and maintain information and knowledge sharing platforms. The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks. You will be comfortable and confident taking ownership of outcomes and leading tasks to completion and success.
Expected salary: $85607 – 97790 per year
