As a Startup Business Development Representative within the Sales organization of AWS, you will help Startup prospects and customers make the transformational move to AWS by understanding their business issues, and demonstrating the unique benefits of solving them with AWS services. You will receive hands-on education, training, and mentorship that will enable you to grow, learn, and be successful. Your primary responsibilities will be to follow-up with Startup prospects and customers in a timely manner, identify and qualify leads and engage with customers in the early stages of their journey. You will work closely with account management teams and the AWS partner ecosystem in nurturing and meeting customer needs.

As a Startup Business Development Representative, you are expected to demonstrate a curiosity/eagerness for learning, a customer-first mindset, the ability to solve problems working backwards from goals and to invent and simplify processes. The role requires a keen sense of ownership, initiative, and a track record of executing in the face of ambiguity, shifting priorities, and limited resources.

A successful Startup Demand Generation Representative would be eager to learn and develop themselves, and be a driven self-starter with a deep interest in technology and startups. The candidate should be prepared to perform against goals and consistently meet targets, with a focus on delivering results for supporting customers through solutions aligned to their business goals and outcomes, leveraging guidance offered to develop professionally.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

* Experience and passion for customer facing roles
Experience in sales or business development
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Additional language in emerging markets
Basic knowledge of cloud technologies and its benefits
Interest in developing a career in business development/customer relationship
Ability to understand a customer’s needs and identify a possible sales opportunity through questioning and active listening

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Technology related sales or business development experience
Experience working with the startup ecosystem
Experience in sales or demand generation within the technology sector
Experience working with, and/or having knowledge of cloud computing and existing cloud technologies
Skilled at presenting, at a high level, a technical solution to prospects relevant to their industry or target market.
Knowledge of and ability to differentiate and understand various IT roles and responsibilities
Advanced Salesforce.com (http://salesforce.com/) experience including the development of reporting, programming experience
