Job summary
Amazon Web Services (AWS), a leader in cloud computing, is seeking a curious, highly-intelligent, self-motivated and creative communications, marketing, and change management professional who is looking to apply their skills and experience in innovative ways. This role will be responsible for delivering high quality messaging as part of our AWS Global Field Tools Enablement team.

AWS’ growth is driving a rapid expansion of its world-wide sales team and there is an increased need for communication support in intranet platforms, training materials, marketing development, and change management within the Professional Services team that supports their work. This includes enhancing our existing communication channels and discovering new digital innovations that enable us to make real-time updates, provide topical messages, and link our employees to the information they need and want to know.

The team is looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Communications Specialist to provide high quality and effective support in designing and implementing communications strategy and mechanisms. You will insist on the highest standards, have a strong bias for action and sense of ownership, think big, and be energized by juggling priorities. You’ll keep composure in fast-moving situations, embrace ambiguity, be able to quickly get up to speed on complex issues, and rapidly prepare thorough messaging strategies. You are no stranger to stakeholder management, and enjoy connecting people and work streams together to drive efficiencies and a better customer experience. They will possess the ability to take the initiative to complete complex tasks and projects quickly and autonomously, react with appropriate urgency to situations that require a quick turnaround.

This is an opportunity for a creative, dynamic, and results-driven communications professional to add significant value to the AWS Global Field Tools Enablement team.

Key job responsibilities
Develop and drive communications that engage and inspire around AWS Seller tools, services, process launches, and other critical changes.
Experiment with new, creative ways to reach team members with information they need to know to be effective in their roles.
Develop communication plans that think long-term, tying multiple communication mechanisms together into broader strategies.
Research, write, edit, and publish communications with a focus for quality, accuracy, and engagement.
Routinely measure and report out to stakeholders regarding the impact of communications.
Create content that establishes a standardized brand and voice.
Manage an editorial review and governance process to improve quality and consistency of content.
Partner with content contributors to ensure content is timely, accurate, clear and actionable.
Distill technical information, complex business processes, and change impacts into crisp, user-friendly communications that drive awareness and adoption of services, programs, and initiatives.
Earn trust, provide sound counsel, and look around corners to spot emerging topics and develop proactive plans to communicate with a wide range of internal stakeholders.

A day in the life
For this Communications role, you’ll work closely with our Field Product Marketing Lead and the Worldwide Revenue Operations Product Owners to understand what’s changing (or what’s brand new) with tools to create value proposition, key messaging, and deliver a clear comms plan with detailed milestones and timeline. You’ll also collaborate with the Learning Experience Designers to integrate key messaging and value propositions into training materials. You’ll interact closely with subject matter experts to ensure materials are clear, concise, concrete, correct, coherent, and complete.

About the team
As part of the AWS Worldwide Revenue Training and Certification Organization, this Field Enablement team role works closely with our Field Marketing & Communications team to support the internal launch of AWS Sales tools and enhancements to our global audience of Sellers and support teams.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

* Bachelor’s degree in Communications or a related field (Journalism, Marketing Communication, Public Relations or related field and / or related work experience in the area of Communications and Change Management)
3+ years communications experience (employee/internal communications experience preferred)
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience developing and implementing communication plans
Experience creating content: digital, written, video, or visual communications materials.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Slack, Quip experience a plus.
Experience leading social media engagement programs/campaigns.
Understanding of Global audiences and accessibilities standards.
* Experience developing creative, effective approaches to difficult communications challenges
