Job summary
The Device Science and Data Technology team is helping our customers having reliable actionable insights to make accurate and well-contextualized decisions quickly, and to empower their software/services with machine learning capabilities to make smarter data-driven decisions in real time. We are building solutions that enables decision intelligence for Amazon Devices, and run our solutions on MLaaS and operating on MLOps. We creates analytics solutions for Device Customer Behaviors and Device Health. You will design, evangelize, and implement state-of-the-art solutions for never-before-solved problems, helping Amazon Devices and its partners to provide customer great products.

Key job responsibilities

  • Supporting the career development of a team of BIEs
  • Partner with internal stakeholders across multiple teams, gathering requirements and delivering complete solutions
  • Partner with Data Engineering, Software Development Engineers, and Applied Scientists to prioritize and define data and BI development needs
  • Strong leadership, vision and passion to build and drive a Business Intelligence team to create changes in business partnerships, analytics, and metrics/reporting
  • Drive the design, development and implementation of our analytics platform.
  • Champion proper adoption of self-service analytic tools and reporting environments

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of successful business intelligence or analytics team management experience, including employee development, performance management, and delivering results
  • Experience in SQL and supporting a team in optimizing query performance for multi-PB size data tables
  • Building and suggesting KPIs to objectively track performance of a business
  • Strong verbal/written communication & data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance or other related discipline.
  • Knowledge of statistics and statistical models as applied to causal inference and experimentation best practices.
  • Sound business judgment, proven ability to influence others, strong attention to detail, excellent organization skills, and ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities are critical to success in this position.

The pay range for this position in Colorado is $87.7 – $153.3/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
