Come and join the Database Migration Accelerator team that helps our customers migrate to the cloud. We are on a mission to transform legacy enterprise workloads into modern AWS native application architectures. We achieve this by utilizing cutting edge tools, sophisticated engineering systems and database expertise. We provide fixed price and high speed migrations to the cloud. Database Migration Accelerator is combining various AWS cloud platform services into one product which would serve our customers. We are a team of professionals that are forward-looking and using latest technology offerings (AWS cloud services, relational and NoSQL databases) to build new capability to operationalize and automate migration methodologies. Databases Services at AWS cover a range of data platforms including Amazon Aurora, DynamoDB, Redshift, Athena, as well as AWS Database Migration Service, Data Pipeline, Glue and more. As each service grows, so does adoption by customers world-wide.

As a Database Engineer on Our Team You Will:

• Analyze schemas and applications to determine the most appropriate migration strategies and architectures
• Write maintainable, scalable and performant database code and refactor existing code objects
• Leverage the latest technologies and products to convert legacy database schemas and applications code between database engines.
• Identify and remediate technical obstacles to migrations.
• Operate test and development environments in the cloud, run and analyze test results, perform diagnostics and troubleshooting, open, prioritize, and help triage defects, track and report test status and results.
• Design solutions and tooling to execute automated database deployments, upgrades and migrations
• Standardize design patterns and usage of persistence solutions that can be adopted across multiple use cases and customers
• Evaluate and drives changes to database and software architectures to address recurring issues or limitations
• Research and identify new opportunities for AWS to innovate on behalf of our customers.


• Bachelors in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years experience as Database Engineer, or similar role is required.
• Good knowledge of at least one of databases: PostgreSQL, Postgres, MySQL, Oracle, MSSQL.
• Hands-on experience in writing good quality database functional code: stored procedures, functions, triggers and other code objects.
• Knowledge of storage systems, distributed systems.
• Good oral and written communication skills with the ability to influence others internally and externally.


• Experience with software development methodologies and programming languages such as Java or C#.
• Experience in AWS or other cloud technologies.
• Knowledge of database migration software and technologies.
