The Recruiting Services (RS) team is reinventing how we recruit at Amazon. We’re looking for an experienced Business Intelligence Engineer with outstanding analytical skills, strong technical acumen, and the ability to lead a small team of Business Intelligence Engineers. The ideal candidate has advanced problem solving, data mining and SQL skills, and can model complex datasets to answer ambiguous questions through data. They also have strong communication skills, the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, and can work in an environment with rapidly-changing priorities and tight deadlines. In this role, you will conduct deep dive analyses into recruiting data that results in direct influence over analytical roadmaps, establishment of key performance metrics, and creation of dashboards to track goal progress and performance health.

• Delivery of complex analysis/projects from initiation through implementation.
• Inspire and manage a talented Business Intelligence Engineers team to achieve its goals and development potential
• Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints.
• Leveraging code to analyze complex datasets and design, develop and evaluate data transformations to solve specific business problems.
• Building scalable, efficient, and automated data processes to capture, control and validated all data with in a process to maintain data integrity and facilitate customer-facing reporting.
• Enable customers to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, develop business cases, and complete root cause analyses. Source, work with, and combine disparate data sets to answer business questions.
• Write quality code to retrieve and analyze data. Understand data resources and know how, when, and which to use (and which not to use)
• Continue to move forward in the face of ambiguity and imperfect data. Find a solution around the problem that still maintains a high analytical bar.
• Ensure that decisions are based on the merit of their unbiased analytical results, not the proposer. Stay “true to the data”.
• Communicate analysis results and techniques, both verbally and in writing, clearly and confidently to peers and business partners.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Finance or a related discipline and 8+ years industry experience
• Demonstrated strength in SQL, data modeling, ETL development, and data warehousing
• Experience in designing and implementing custom reporting systems with tools such as Tableau and QuickSight
• Strong verbal, written, interpersonal and data presentation skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Advanced technical or business degree (MS or MBA)
• Experience using AWS analytical services (e.g., Redshift, Data Pipeline, EMR, Machine Learning, Kinesis)
• 5+ years of hand-on experience with multiple analytics framework development platforms such as R, Python, SQL, AWS Services etc.
• Proven problem-solving skills, project management skills, attention to detail, ability to influence others and exceptional organizational skills
• Ability to deal with ambiguity and competing objectives in a fast-paced environment
• Be self-driven, and show ability to deliver on ambiguous projects with incomplete data
• Ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams
• Ability to work collaboratively with non-technical customers and team members and translate business questions into analytical requirements with ease
