The Americas Deal Desk is looking for a passionate, results oriented and hands-on Sr. Deal Desk Manager for our rapidly growing team in Professional Services. Based anywhere in Canada (but preferably Toronto) you will partner with leadership across the Americas to drive improvements in contracting velocity for Statements of Work (SOW) and SOW Amendments. We’re looking for a motivated self-starter who’s passionate about partnering with Sales on deal structure for contracting, managing operational processes, analyzing trends and recommending and implementing process improvements. The candidate will work cross functionally with AWS Legal and our contract drafting team on SOWs and SOW Amendments to ensure they meet legal scope and adhere to Professional Services policy. The candidate will be expected to make appropriate trade-offs to optimize time-to-market and clearly communicate goals/intent, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to internal cross-functional and remote teams.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in a contract drafting, Deal Desk function or as a Proposal Manager within a professional services consulting organization. They must have the ability to think strategically and long-term about the needs of a high-growth professional services organization and have the ability to create analytics that give leaders insights into objectives and key results. They must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. In this role they will need to anticipate bottlenecks, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints and policies. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent and leadership are essential to success in this role. This is an individual contributor role.

Key job responsibilities
Influence a cross-functional team to drive strategic contracting initiatives for the business
Provide consistent reporting on Statement of Work status’ and outcomes
Provide oversight, guidance and escalation management to cross-functional project teams
Develop a roadmap for implementation of enhancements and new features through cross-functional stakeholder influence
Demonstrate strong communication skills (both verbal and written) across all levels of the business
Manage the KPIs associated with SOW programs
Assist to recruit, onboard, and train Deal Desk Analysts
Create and maintain standard operating procedures pertaining to SOWs and SOW Amendments
Become a contracting subject matter expert

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

* 5+ years of experience in a Deal Desk, Proposal Manager or contract drafting role
Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
Bachelor’s degree
Track record for being detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate and follow-through on projects
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations
Reporting experience with Salesforce.com (SFDC) or other Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software. Ability to build reports and extract data.
Demonstrated experience proactively recognizing a challenge or problem and working with a variety of teams and data sources to diagnose the problem and recommend solutions

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Experience optimizing the sales motion in a Professional Services business
Working knowledge of Professional Services Automation (PSA) tools (FinancialForce, OpenAir, etc)
* Masters Degree
