Job summary
The Amazon Devices team develops customer-obsessed consumer electronics including Amazon Fire TV, Amazon Fire Tablets and Echo Show. It is revolutionizing the way people watch and search for content and use devices throughout their home and looking for a highly motivated Senior Business Development Manager to support our most strategic content and application creators. The successful candidate will have experience working with external partners, strong negotiation acumen, excellent verbal and written communications skills, experience working with a broad array of stakeholders (e.g. product, marketing), the ability to adapt to new scenarios and a track record of delivering high quality results.

Key job responsibilities
• Identify, evaluate, negotiate and manage strategic partnerships that drive competitive advantage and customer delight, and support strategic objectives
• Work closely with internal engineering and product teams to identify, evaluate and drive feature adoption among top partners.
• Evaluate the economic and strategic costs and benefits of partnerships and work with appropriate leaders and across all functional areas of Amazon to execute on the relationships.
• Drive partner success through building account plans, roadmaps and working closely with cross-matrix teams including: Legal, PR, Marketing, Product, Technology and Advertising.
• Recruit and mentor other business development and partner management professionals.

A day in the life
As a member of the Content and App Partner Engagement team, a Senior Business Development Manager (SBDM) works closely with third party entities to drive customer obsessed partnerships. SBDMs must manage and cultivate highly impactful relationships, negotiate complex agreements, possess deep domain experience, demonstrate tenacity in securing feature adoption, monetize distribution and serve as the voice of the partner internally.

About the team
The CAPE team manages the global portfolio of third party app and game developers worldwide that distribute content on Amazon branded and 3P branded devices with screens (Fire TV, Fire TV Edition, Fire TV Automotive, Fire Tablets, Echo Show, and Android Mobile Devices via Amazon Appstore).

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in related field
• 7+ years experience in a business role: business development, corporate development, product management / product marketing, partner management, or related positions
• Experience structuring and negotiating agreements
• Experience managing complex third-party relationships
• Strong oral and written communication skills along with a proven ability to influence others internally and externally
• Consistently meets and exceeds quantified goals

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience executing deals in high-tech industries with major brands
• Experience identifying, negotiating, and executing successful large-scale and complex partnerships
• Experience executing technology, services, and marketing partnerships
• Experience with business models and data analysis
• Personal passion for (and early adopter of) emerging consumer technologies – committed to learning and expanding professional and technical knowledge
• Experience directly managing business development or partner management professionals
• Ability to work in fast-paced environment and resourceful in achieving success in the face of ambiguity while prioritizing and managing multiple responsibilities
• Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, schedule trade-offs and opportunistic new ideas with technical employees
