Job summary
Amazon Web Services is looking for highly talented developers and architects with deep SAP technical and solution knowledge to help customers accelerate their success in the AWS Cloud. This architect position will join the WWSO SAP team focused on AWS’s most critical SAP customer requirements. Solution Architects are called on for their technical and subject matter expertise and engage in a wide variety of work with our customer and our partners. In this role you will be responsible for helping customers maximize their value of SAP on AWS cloud investments. You will work with product teams developing solutions, reference architectures, and creative solutions to support the innovation strategy of our customer’s SAP on AWS environments. You will focus on building solutions that will expand the adoption of AWS cloud services such as Serverless computing, Analytics, Big Data, Mobile, IoT, AI and Machine Learning. Success in this role will require your technical, industry, and consulting skills to navigate through customers’ complex technology landscape to develop compelling solutions to accelerate the business benefits of our customers’ migration to AWS cloud.

Key job responsibilities
• Design and develop thought leadership for extending SAP applications using AWS solutions in the areas of Apps & APIs, Big Data & Analytics, IoT, DevOps and AI&ML
• Use advanced pre-sales communication and presentation skills to inspire customers to continue to innovate with AWS
• Develop and execute scaling mechanisms to convert solution ideas into consumable packages for accelerated customer adoption and time to value
• Work with customers to build solution offerings for SAP application extensions using AWS and leverage AWS partner solutions (System Integrators and Independent Software Vendors solutions)
• Collaborate with WWSO SAP sales teams and lead customer opportunities related to Analytics, Big Data, Mobile, IoT, AI and Machine Learning technologies in connection with SAP applications
• Act as a subject matter expert in your areas of expertise; drive enablement workshops for customers, partners and internal field teams
• Collaborate with AWS product and engineering teams to build native AWS solutions to support SAP application extensions
• Publish white papers, blogs and speak at technology conferences to educate and enable the customer and partner technology teams

A day in the life
This role is part Architect and part cloud artist. It is dynamic, leveraging your experience and talent to build new solutions with ride ranging impact. You will identify new opportunities for incremental value by combining SAP products and data with services across the AWS portfolio. You will guide and inspire customers to innovate in support of their stated corporate strategy and deliver new value to their customers. The solutions you will create are only limited by your imagination.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting experience in applications or infrastructures
• 8+ years within specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics)

• 7-10 years of consulting or implementation experience, integrating SAP solutions (on premise or cloud) with digital technologies
• Hands-on experience in developing ERP solutions like SAP, SaaS applications like Salesforce, Workday etc., full stack custom development, Industry specific solutions
• Hands-on experience in Integration tools and frameworks, security frameworks and data migrations
• Working knowledge of any of the following Relational and NoSQL databases, Cloud-native application development, Big data analytics, fundamentals of AWS Solutions, Server-less computing, Real-time streaming applications, Integration middleware, API Gateways, Mobile development, Internet of Things, Machine Learning
• Strong understanding of the SAP data interface technologies (ODATA, RFC, ABAP, 3rd party tools, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of business processes and SAP data (ie. can talk about cash-flow, supply chain logistics, order management, etc) and knowledge of the SAP business data schema (not just platform/basis/infra knowledge – real business knowledge)
• Apply business concepts to create PoCs/demos and showcase value (ie. how will IOT help my manufacturing organization? what business challenges can I solve with a data lake? How can AI/ML help my sales forecasting?)
• Knowledge of SAP applications and how to use them with AWS services in the areas of Apps & APIs, Big Data & Analytics, IoT, DevOps and AI&ML
• Strong customer and partner facing consulting skills with the ability to fine tune your message for both technical and business audience.
• Experience and deep knowledge of SAP systems (like SAP Business Suite, SAP HANA, SAP Business Objects, SAP Mobility…) and their architecture and infrastructure needs
• BS level technical degree required; Computer Science or Math background preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations
• Ability to seamlessly transition between hands-on activities to executive presentations

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience providing leadership to high performing technical teams
• Advanced Degree in Computer Science or Math is a plus
• Experience working with end user or developer’s communities.
• Experience helping customers implement SAP integration scenarios through SAP Cloud Platform or other cloud services a plus.
• Ability to contribute to complex software development projects
