Amazon
Our mission: To be Earth's most customer-centric company.
DESCRIPTION
Job summary
Amazon Web Service’s Immune team is developing systems for recognizing and correcting the conditions that would cause a system to fail before the failure occurs. We’re using machine learning, data analytics, and predictive algorithms to alert service owners and engineers to potential problems in time to take corrective action.
AWS has a track record of constantly growing the variety of services we make available and the geographies where we make them available and adding other capabilities that improve performance, flexibility, and ease of use. Delivering on this growth, with availability, resiliency, and reliability, requires solving distributed systems and data science problems at the forefront of computer science. The benefit of this work is to enable faster innovation across the rest of the software industry.
We seek a software developer who has demonstrated expertise in building large-scale distributed systems, preferably leveraging Amazon services. Exposure to machine learning, isometric algorithms, and predictive analytics is a plus.
The role provides a unique opportunity to build large-scale systems working across the entire AWS platform. You will draw upon exemplary technical architecture, deployment and management skills, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a passion for building stable, resilient, reliable systems at a massive scale. You should be open to new challenges, extremely comfortable working in an ambiguous problem space, innovative, creative, self-directed, and a great team player. You will drive the business, continuously process improvements, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional business and software development teams to solve problems, implement new solutions, and drive new usage cases. You will interact with a broad cross-section of the Amazon organization, spanning various technologies and engaging with external vendors and internal teams.
Responsibilities include:
• Execute in a multi-OS environment.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to drive the product roadmaps.
• Address bottlenecks, provide customer input, anticipate and make tradeoffs and balance the business needs versus technical constraints.
• Partner with multiple teams across multiple locations with varying priorities to ensure timely delivery of the solution.
- Be comfortable in an environment where the problem to solve is not always well-understood.
