Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for world class consultants that are interested in helping us and our partners the AWS Partner Network in the United States, while increasing the adoption of AWS services for Public Sector customers.

The AWS Partner Network (APN) includes tens of thousands of Independent Software Vendors (ISVs), SaaS and PaaS providers, as well as Systems Integrators, Managed Service Providers and Professional Services Consultants.

As a Partner Development Acceleration Manager on the Worldwide Public Sector team, you will have the exciting opportunity to develop our community of partners in the US Public Sector and accelerate their development along with AWS adoption by Government, Education, and Non-Profit customers.

In this role, you will establish deep relationships within a set of AWS partners and will lead them through a customized partner development plan, across a diverse set of developmental milestones.
The ideal candidate will have existing expertise in working with either Independent Software Vendors (ISV) Partners or System Integrator (SI) / Consulting Partners in understanding the unique aspects of their business in order to insure their accelerated success within the Amazon Partner Network (APN).

The ideal candidate will also possess both a business background to gain executive-level buy-in, as well as a sufficient technical background to interact with software developers and solutions architects.
He/she should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically and communicate clearly with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

Key job responsibilities
You’ll work closely with strategic AWS Partners, and their associated leaders, in leading them through a set clearly defined, proven consultative process that accelerates their AWS business.

This is a highly consultative role that requires a mature professional that can balance the dynamic of being consultative, yet prescriptive.

Other key facets of the role include but are not limited to:
Partner Assessment: In alignment with established best practices, develop an accelerated development plan that will assist the partner in achieving success within the Amazon Partner Network (APN), ultimately leading to Customer Obsessed results for internal as well as external stakeholders.

Presentation Skills: Present the AWS & APN value proposition to position benefits of an AWS focused technology practice.

Administrative: Utilize CRM systems (Salesforce.com), data visualization (Tableau), and other internal systems to establish a sound record of work with each partner and customer.

Domain Expertise: Understand and navigate the complexities of Public Sector technology acquisition/procurement.
Internal & External Relationships & Collaboration: Partner with key internal stakeholders (e.g. sales teams, service teams, legal, support, etc).

Reporting: Prepare and give partner reviews to the senior management team regarding partner and programmatic progress and roadblocks.

Local and domestic travel is optional

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 4+ years of experience with technology sales in IT infrastructure, IaaS, PaaS, or SaaS
• 4+ years of account management, partner development, or related customer relationship experience
• Experience with indirect sales cycles involving channel/partner organizations
• BA/BS degree
• Experience with Salesforce.com and Outlook

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with Public Sector business development, sales, procurement, or contracting
• Experience working with, at or selling to AWS ISV Partners
• Self-starter and self-motivated with an entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to collaborate to solve complex business challenges.
• Working knowledge of emerging technologies, especially as it relates to Iaas, PaaS, and SaaS.
• Excellent writing skills. The ability to author original text including detailed sales forecasts and strategy planning documents.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead executive level meetings.
• Established professional network within the government, education, and non-profit partner markets.
• Experience developing an indirect sales channel, growing partner competencies, and delivering sell to and sell-through revenue.
• Fluency in second language
• Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role.
• Meets/exceeds Amazon’s functional/technical depth and complexity.
