DESCRIPTION

Job summary
Amazon’s Consumer Talent Management team is looking for a Senior Program Manager to develop and implement talent management programs and processes related to talent growth and movement. This role will support design, implementation, and measurement of talent growth and movement mechanisms across Consumer’s global and diverse businesses. In this role, you will leverage data-driven insights to provide and implement recommendations for improvement.

The successful candidate: You are a bright, customer-obsessed, and driven person who has the ability and initiative to diagnose issues and influence solutions. You love to help employees reach their career goals, managers champion and support their employees, and organization leaders make fair talent decisions. You consistently pursue inclusion and equity in everything you do, from the solutions you design to the leadership you exhibit as a part of a supportive and diverse team. You nimbly overcome barriers to deliver results quickly, pride yourself on getting the details right, and revel in the joy of learning (even through failure). You are a skilled communicator, a savvy data user, and a fearless explorer drawn to hard problems and ambiguity.

Key job responsibilities
• Program management. Build plans with clear objectives, milestones, stakeholders, and metrics.
• Prioritization. There will be a constant flow of work, both tactical and strategic. Determine what gets done first and why, while managing a plan for what to do with everything else.
• Building relationships. Partner with HR Business Partners and corporate central teams. Share best practices, partner on solutions to bridge the gaps, and move the organizations forward together.
• Thinking big. How do we build bigger, better, faster? What aren’t we thinking of? How can we look around more corners on behalf of our customer(s)?
• Communicating. Share your ideas, listen to others, follow-up, and follow-up again. Strong written and verbal communication is key.
• Resourcefulness. If you don’t know it, that’s ok. But you should know where to go for the answer or how to find out.
• Bias for Action and Dealing with Ambiguity. Sometimes it is not clear how we are going to get there. Can you help carve a path? How fast can you do it? What are the tradeoffs?
• Numbers. Data. Love them, use them. Be more than comfortable talking about them in a deep and detailed way, able to tell someone what the numbers are actually saying.
• Judgment. Take different perspectives and business needs, develop a solution that works, move the ball forward. Be able to support your opinions with sound reasoning grounded in the business.
• Scale services and mechanisms. Design talent processes and solutions that scale and adapt to evolving talent needs.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • 5+ years in Program Management (Business or HR), Marketing, Talent Management, Communications, or related experience.
  • Proven track record of end-to-end ownership of marketing and communications strategy.

• Advanced degree in Human Resources, Business, Industrial & Organizational Psychology, or a related field
• Strong subject matter expertise in talent management, talent analytics, and organization development
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (e.g. pivot tables, complex functions, macros)
• Project/Program management certification
• Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
• Proven ability to drive and manage multiple, competing priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment
• Change management experience
• Experience managing cross-functional projects and initiatives
• Effective collaboration with a global HR team
• Strong analytical skills. Experience using and presenting data to make decisions.
• Proactive, organized, and detail-oriented; able to ensure rigor and accuracy while meeting deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication; high quality document preparation and presentation skills
• Ability to interface effectively with business and HR professionals, and executives at all levels
