Amazon Studios is responsible for producing, acquiring and licensing compelling, exclusive Original content for our massive global base of Amazon Prime Video customers. As the home of Original shows and movies like the Emmy Award-winning comedy The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, the raucous and satirical superhero takedown The Boys, the sequel to Eddie Murphy’s cult-classic film Coming 2 America, and, coming in 2022, the TV adaptation of The Lord of the Rings, we are just getting started. Amazon Studios is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our Culver City-based team. The Senior Financial Analyst will report directly to the US Content Planning and Analysis lead for licensed content, and will lead financial planning efforts for US licensed content. With direct influence over content investment decisions and strategy, this is an ideal opportunity for a finance professional who is passionate about data, analytics, driving value for customers, and, of course, video content.

Key job responsibilities
• Financially evaluate content licensing opportunities and both influence and opine as to which content Prime Video should license to delight our customers
• Partner with business and content strategy teams to design both short and long-term content strategy, including inventing new metrics to measure success
• Set content category level performance and efficiency goals and report to PV leadership on actual results, and dive deep to deliver insights into drivers of variance
• Author post-mortem analyses to determine areas for optimization and improvement on past content investment decisions
• Provide timely, accurate and complete financial forecasting and reporting for our US licensed content budgets

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of finance experience or a related analytical field.
  • 5+ years of finance experience or a related analytical field.
  • BA/BS Degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering or similar discipline with analytical bias;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong resourcefulness and ability to find or develop compelling data given limited resources and time;
  • Demonstrated expertise with building financial models and processes using MS Excel;
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple projects with cross-functional teams
  • Experience working in an ambiguous environment;
  • An eye for continuous process improvement, including the ability to innovate and simplify finance and operational processes.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (i.e. SQL, Tableau, Essbase and/or Cognos) and other financial systems such (e.g. Oracle).
  • Previous Entertainment/Media experience.
