DESCRIPTION

Amazon is looking for a Senior Product Manager – Tech who is passionate, innovative and have a heart for Nourishing People and the Planet by joining the Amazon team supporting the Whole Foods Digital Engineering Services team. This team is responsible for front end consumer services for omni-channel eCommerce, marketing, in-store Retail applications, Customer Service applications, and will be deployed to tackle some of our most complex and challenging projects. The team will deliver innovative technical solutions to advance the retail grocery industry.

Our team’s mandate is to launch and accelerate the digital eCommerce and Mobile channels, offering a differentiated customer experience. We’re looking for entrepreneurial and innovative individuals who thrive on solving tough problems. Our team is building enterprise-scale, mission-critical, multi-tiered web applications using tools that are well out in front on the technology wave. The Role: Everyone on the team needs to be entrepreneurial, wear many hats and work in a highly collaborative environment. As an Amazon PM-T, you will help tackle a diverse landscape of technical challenges. We are an early-stage initiative, and you will play an active role in translating business requirements into concrete systems and prototyping concepts in partnership with Amazon, technology leaders within the team and across the business.

You will design, architect and deploy reliable distributed solutions that operate at Amazon scale. You will tackle challenging, novel situations every day and will have the opportunity to redefine an industry while working with different teams across Amazon and Whole Foods Market. Key Attributes and Responsibilities

As Senior Product Manager – Tech on our team, you will help drive the strategy and business requirements that will create new features. You will help improve the customers experience making it simpler to onboard to new digital properties, expand the Amazon in-store signage, selling and marketing systems into new verticals, improving brand perception and awareness. You will work side by side with a talented team of software developers in an agile environment launching new products while managing launched products concurrently. You’ll own building product roadmaps and the long term vision strategy, drive the day to day product development schedule from design through release, run usability studies with UX, and interact with customers and Whole Foods marketing leadership, and help the operations team remove customer pain points.
The right candidate will possess a strong customer experience and business background. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent and leadership are essential to success in this role.
As the Senior Product Manager – Tech for WFM Digital, your responsibilities will include:
• Own and define the product roadmap and long term strategy, managing tradeoffs and dependencies with key stakeholders
• Understand market trends and build business cases for new product opportunities.
• Dive deep into customer feedback to represent the voice of the customer to the engineering team and other stakeholders
• Drive product launches including working with business development, marketing, leadership, customer support, engineering, UX, operations, solution architects, and other product management team members
• Ability to establish and monitor business metrics to drive the team’s progress toward goals
• Review with stakeholders status, progress and results of projects
You will be working alongside some of the smartest engineers at Amazon out of Austin, TX, the best city for BBQ and live music. Line dancing and wearing cowboy boots to the office are optional. Most importantly you’ll be contributing to our Higher Purpose of Nourishing People and the Planet!

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 5+ years of experience in product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology
• Experience with end to end product delivery
• Experience overseeing roadmap strategy and definition
• Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
• Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
• Advanced degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or a related field
• Experience working in a complex, service oriented software development.
• Exceptional attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously Experience managing scalable, available, and low-latency systems
• Highly analytical, capable of turning raw data into information and insights
• Proven track record of managing and executing large projects from start to finish, including project management, data gathering and modeling, problem solving, and communicating recommendations
• Experience with machine learning and feedback loops
• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
• Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through actual launch of the project

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) or Computer Science
• Advanced experience with Excel, SQL, or other analytical/Business Intelligence tools
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• A passion for customer experience combined with business curiosity and a strategic viewpoint
• Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through actual launch of the project
• Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs
• Experience with distributed computing and enterprise-wide systems
• Excellent communication, collaboration, reporting, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive
