We are seeking a Security Manager for the United States and Canada territory to manage a team of security professionals at Amazon Studios, provide broad range of support, and enhance our physical security program throughout their areas of responsibility. The role will report to the Senior US/CAN Production Security Manager with the preferred location for this position being in Los Angeles, CA.

The US/CAN Security Manager will manage efforts and teams relating to the protection of creative assets and personnel within production environments at Amazon Studios. This global program provides services to original productions, co-productions, and licensed productions. This position plays a pivotal role in collaborating with the Senior US/CAN Production Security Manager to provide complete security and safety of our people, information, and other assets.

Our ideal candidate will have extensive work experience in films and TV production security, business continuity and crisis management, discretion in handling confidential and critical information, and the interpersonal skills needed to navigate, grow, and optimize efforts in a high-tech, fast-paced, and physical environment. This candidate also understands that supporting their people is one of the most critical roles they perform, and to achieve this they are open, approachable, and have a bias for action.

Key job responsibilities

  • Travel throughout the US/CAN region to ensure delivery of a high standard, professional security service across productions.
  • Able to travel 30-50% often with short or little notice.
  • Conduct and oversee the production security assessment program and leverage external and internal partners for timely threat and risk evaluations.
  • Provide status updates, tracking, and coordination of all projects, incidents, and escalation notifications to leadership.
  • Collaborate proactively with key stakeholders in the design and development of physical and digital security asset protection.
  • Identify technology solutions to support security production requirements.
  • Ensure safety and asset protection plans are communicated and delivered.
  • Maintain compliance with physical and content security requirements.
  • Oversee vendor management to ensure compliance with service level agreements and ensure adherence to content security and site security standards.
  • Manage the delivery of training and awareness briefings for all on-set production users with access to confidential physical or digital assets.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS degree or 5+ years of equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years of experience in security, law enforcement, or an intelligence role
  • 5+ years of experience working in the US/CAN region
  • Experience developing security and compliance documentation
  • Experience analyzing data and intelligence to evaluate the severity and nature of risk
  • Experience with vendor management
  • Experience supporting and interacting with stakeholders and senior leadership
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) in a professional environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Able to travel 30-50% often with short or little notice
  • Experience managing security and compliance coordinators with a diverse range of service backgrounds
  • Experience working in a corporate security environment
  • Experience working in film and/or TV production security spanning physical, production, events, training and compliance disciplines
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to work independently
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work across a wide range of disciplines and personalities
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, strong business judgment with little or no oversight, and demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high profile environment
  • Ability to make operational decisions, and guidance to key stakeholders
  • Understanding of customer experience, listening to the customers’ voice, and working backwards to improve business process and operations
