Job summary
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a talented technical practitioner to help Amazon build the best products possible using the entire AWS Native Container Services portfolio. This Developer Advocacy role drives contribution, adoption, and engagement for Amazon Container Services across the spectrum of Amazon businesses, while providing feedback and insight to help create the best container-focused products on the planet. The Native Container Services team is tasked with building and operating services such as Amazon Elastic Container Service (ECS), Fargate, App Runner, and App Mesh, that make it easy for customers to run container-based applications and microservices in production using cloud-native tools and products. As part of the larger team that is responsible for Amazon EKS, Lambda, Elastic Container Registry, and AWS Proton, this is the place where the present and future of cloud-based compute is being created. In this role, you will combine your unbridled passion and enthusiasm for building some of the largest scale, most impactful container solutions on the planet, with your passion to give those audiences the best possible products to use. You will join a talented team of Developer Advocates to learn from, and with, in an atmosphere that is engaging, diverse, and dynamic.

Key job responsibilities
Ideally, you are someone who has spent time building amazing things using Amazon ECS to solve problems. You get great satisfaction from guiding developers and product teams towards a technology you believe in. You have immediate credibility with Builders based on the portfolio of solutions you’ve delivered in the past. You love to share your passion with others and exhibit good judgment in selecting strategic opportunities to do so.   • Working in a hands-on fashion to help Amazon solve business challenges and build amazing products on top of the AWS Native Container ecosystem.
  • Delivering compelling presentations, product demos, sample solutions, and discussions to drive adoption of containers and other container technologies
  • Working directly with the service team to identify and develop new features/functionality and improvements based on feedback gathered from customers
  • Gaining industry recognition and credibility as a regular attendee, panelist, and keynote speaker at meetups, technology conferences, trade shows and press events
  • Creating screencasts, white papers and tutorials about emerging technologies and industry developments
  • Working with your worldwide AWS service team advocacy counterparts to share best practices and help build a best-in-the-industry organization committed to building the best cloud products on earth

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4+ years of technical experience in Development, DevOps, Solutions Architect or a similar role
  • 2+ years experience in a role which includes writing and speaking on technical topics
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience building with Amazon Native Container products

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Open source experience, familiar with upstream workflows and tools including GitHub and git
  • Container development experience in your preferred programming language(s)
  • Product team experience
  • Project or product team leadership experience

The pay range for this position in Colorado is $160828-$217591 / yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
