Job summary
It’s truly Day 1 for our team in AWS. This is your opportunity to be a founding member of a new team that’s building a suite of AWS Apps and Services to tackle a huge new problem space. You’ll be an integral part of building services that leverage cutting edge AWS technologies like SageMaker, Forecast, Athena, QuickSight, Glue, and more. As an early member of the team, you’ll wear many hats. You’ll help design the overall architecture, contribute to the product vision, and establish the technology processes and practices that will lay the groundwork for the organization as it grows.
An ideal candidate is an experienced Software QA Engineer with a development and/or QA background who can direct the activities of a growing team. The successful candidate should be able to apply QA process, practice and principles to software development and release processes, should apply their experience with a variety of software QA tools to accomplish these processes, as well as to describe requirements for new scripts, tools and automation needed by their team. Responsibilities include defining test strategy and test plans, reviewing them with stakeholders, improving test coverage, reviewing and filling gaps in existing automation, representing the customer, understanding how the customers use the system and including the most relevant end-to-end user scenarios in test plans and automation.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent combination of technical education and work experience.
- 6+ years of proven experience as QAE, SDET, or SDE
- 6+ years experience with driving quality across an organization as a holistic plan and not just test execution
- 6+ years experience with QA methodologies and software testing techniques and tools.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working closely with development and business teams to understand requirements and communicate impact of issues
- Strong organizational skills, ability to track multiple test executions simultaneously and to be able to synthesize results
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with one scripting language and automation framework
- Experience using test cases management tools (like TCM or TestRail), issues management tools (like jira etc) and development environments (like Visual Studio, IntelliJ or Eclipse).
- Experience in agile development methodologies with continuous integration
- Experience with release management processes for a complex service supporting a large number of customers and high volume of requests
- Shows creativity and initiative to improve product test coverage and effectiveness
- Comfortable communicating cross-functionally and across management levels in formal and informal settings
