What you’ll do as Technical Program Manager, Amazon Physical Stores
You will own project management for one of the first programs within our team. You’ll be part of formulating our technical strategy, working closely with product management, design, software engineering, and QA. Recognizing that there’s often more to learn from failure than success, you’ll experiment constantly. You will be part of creating a team culture that is trusting, transparent, and inclusive. You will motivate the team with the why and align on common goals. You will gain the investment of our partner teams and ensure they feel included, up to date, and aligned at all times. You will build project schedules that are realistic, but also aggressively deliver customer value. You’ll look around corners, take great care of your teammates, build scalable systems, and know that if a challenge is not a little scary, it’s probably not worth doing.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• 5+ years of professional experience in Technical Program Management
• Strong verbal/written communication and presentation skills – ability to clearly communicate high level strategy as well as technical details
• Experience driving technical strategy and architecture decisions
• Experience collaborating with Product, and non-technical partners
• Prior experience working on large cross org programs
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline
• Experience with mobile or full-stack software development
• Knowledge of software engineering best practices including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
