As the global lead for the Environmental Management System, you are responsible for establishing, and operating our EMS in alignment to Amazon Devices & Services environmental sustainability strategy, and The Climate Pledge.
Key job responsibilities
Ensures that processes needed for the EMS are documented, established, and maintained in conformance with applicable standards
Ensures that any legislative changes that impact the EMS are brought to the attention of the responsible leaders in a timely manner for appropriate action
Ensures KPI’s are set and standards met .
Carries out monthly, and annual Internal Audits, managing findings to closure
Manages, and assists with External Audits as and when necessary.
Maintains Quality Records related to the EMS.
Develops excellent business relations with stakeholders, operational teams, and suppliers.
Ensures relevant environmental training programs are delivered to all staff as appropriate.
Attends, and chairs annual and monthly review meetings.
Understands customer attitudes to environmental standards, and recommends strategics to raise the bar on behalf of our customers.
Is solution-oriented and committed to creating and sustaining a culture of continual improvement and innovation.

About the team
The Quality & Lean QMS team consists of business process analysts, quality system experts, program managers, supply chain experts, regulatory experts, and internal auditors. Our mission is to establish and manage Amazon Devices and Services Quality, Environmental, and Regulatory Systems; enabling the manufacture and distribution of safe, effective and high-quality products.
6+ years of experience working in Quality • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science/engineering/policy or equivalent.
Environmental sustainability work experience with general understanding of climate policy
Minimum 5 years of environmental sustainability experience in corporate sustainability reporting, climate policy, climate reporting.
Demonstrates strong interpersonal, management presence and judgment skills to employ thought leadership across a group of stakeholders
Strong verbal, written, and communication skills
Strong analytical capabilities to support diligence and compliance activities
ISO14001 Lead Auditor certification.
Masters in environmental science/engineering/policy or equivalent
5+ years project management or environmental consulting experience with experience managing project teams
Experience in implementation of sustainability programs
Knowledge of GHG Protocol or other climate reporting frameworks
Knowledge of specific domestic carbon policies and/or carbon policies relating to the aviation industry
Experience collaborating among teams and working on projects involving multiple groups and individuals of differing backgrounds and perspectives
