Job summary
Private Marketplace Core team is an engineering team in Amazon Advertising. This group owns the private marketplace realtime auctions, metrics, monitoring and troubleshooting. Private Marketplace is a fast growing area in advertising, where advertisers (eg., Geico) and publishers (eg., a streaming TV App or a channel on Amazon Prime Video, or a website like cnn.com (http://cnn.com/) (http://cnn.com/)) make agreements called deals. These deals can agree on price, guarantees like how many impressions and so on.

PMP Core team is responsible for deal bidding that determines how ads are selected, priced and ranked in Private Marketplace deal auctions, and metrics and monitoring of the health of the marketplace. Over the next two years, this team is building features that drastically change deal bidding and developing new advertiser controls and new troubleshooting features. This is a great opportunity to build new features, learn and grow.”

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4+ years of professional software development experience
  • 3+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
  • 2+ years of experience contributing to the system design or architecture (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead OR leading an engineering team

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
  • 3+ years of programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
  • 4+ years of professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of experience as a mentor, tech lead OR leading an engineering team
  • Bachelors in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Experienced debugging, diagnosing, and troubleshooting complex, production software issues
