Job summary
We are looking for a Senior Hardware Quality Engineer in support of hardware development that requires significant innovation to push the state of the art in computer vision, machine learning and sensor fusion for the new Amazon Dash Cart and other confidential projects. Our team is based in the Boston MetroWest area.

Amazon Dash cart allows shoppers to checkout without lines you just place the items in the cart and the cart will take care of the rest. When you’re done shopping, you leave the store through a designated dash lane. We charge the payment method in your Amazon account as you walk through the dash lane and send you a receipt. Designed and custom-built by Amazonians, our Dash cart uses a variety of technologies including computer vision, sensor fusion, and advanced machine learning. Key job responsibilities
As a Senior Hardware Quality Engineer within our organization, you will collaborate with a skilled and accomplished cross-disciplinary staff to drive key aspects of hardware built-in quality activities encountered during product definition, design, development, testing, and build of electrical and mechanical hardware. Some of the key job functions of the senior hardware quality engineer include:

o Serve as the quality engineering lead for electrical and mechanical systems, providing expertise, guidance, framework, and management of testing activities through the entire product development life cycle, from inception and roadmap through design
o Engage with design team to create test plan for design validation, unit testing, bring-up and build, analyzing test coverage, tracking test progress, and coordinating methodological execution of root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions
o Participate design reviews and Gate reviews and Change Control Boards to identify quality gaps and risks
o Mentor design engineers in terms of built-in-quality design techniques and engineering best practices, for example, DFX and DFMEA etc.
o Write functional test specifications and develop design validation plans and test procedures

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

o Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering (or similar field)
o 7+ years of experience in quality engineering in support of electrical, mechanical and system level design and development
o Ability to analyze test coverage and create test cases for design validation, bring-up, system integration testing, and stress testing
o Experience with test instrument in electrical and mechanical and optical for design validation and reliability
o Prior experience with delivering products into mass production
o Communication skills in engaging, working with, and guiding internal and external stakeholders in terms of quality activities
o Ensure compliance with certification and safety and quality standards

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

o MS in electrical engineering
o Strong analytical and methodological root cause analysis and troubleshooting skills
o Experience working with camera, display, wi-fi, touch, audio, and battery modules
o Ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to executives and non-technical leaders
o Familiarity with industry standards and certifications, for example, IPC-2231, IEC/EN 61000, UL/CSA, TUV, and MIL-STD 810 etc.
