Position Overview
Autodesk is seeking an experienced software Engineer with a background of managing Product backlog and product roadmap. The Sr. Software Engineer partners with business stakeholders and Product Managers to understand, analyze, refine, prioritize and communicate business needs to ensure that the engineering team fully understands the project scope, objectives and requirements. you will lead collaboration, facilitates sprint activities, and creates and communicates requirements artifacts that translate business needs into executable requirements. Through a combination of strong business understanding, solid analytical and problem- solving skills, and excellent interviewing and facilitating techniques, the technical Product Owner will take the lead in translating business needs into solutions and features. Responsibilities

  • Business guidance
    • Proficiently summarizes customer needs and goals in clear and concise themes, epics, and user stories
    • Effectively divides overall project goals into prioritized deliverables for sequential and focused progress
    • Guides the team to a clear definition of deliverable business value for each team sprint, quarter, and release
    • Decisively resolves ambiguous business priority conflicts
    • Regularly consults with product management to ensure continued alignment with broader product and business goals
  • Agile implementation
    • Guides the delivery of business value in clear and bounded increments
    • Directs the team in creating and maintaining charters as business and project conditions evolve
    • Accountable for confirming with the team an appropriate Definition of Done for each user story
    • Maintains the integrity and guides the evolution of themes, epics, and user stories
    • Prioritizes user stories for sequential and focused team progress
    • Adjusts project priorities according to evolving business and project conditions
    • Includes technical debt reduction in all priority considerations
    • Appropriately prioritizes defect investigation and correction according to business conditions
  • Communication and collaboration
    • Includes appropriate stakeholders in chartering sessions
    • Collects and responds to customer and stakeholder feedback, appropriately adjusting future scope, timing, and priority of deliverables
    • Assures transparency to the team regarding current business and product investments
    • Ensures transparency, alignment, and understanding of team focus and direction among all stakeholders
    • Accessible to team members for explanation and clarification of project goals, priorities, and constraints
    • Adjusts scope, priority, and timing of deliverables in collaboration with the agile team, product management, and other stakeholders
  • Quality
    • Validates that working software is “done” according to the adopted definition of done. Accepts or rejects agile story completion
    • Ensures the team maintains focus on quality over quantity and stresses the importance of quality to all stakeholders
    • Ensure new work done conforms to established standards and meets the design specifications.
    • Ensure new work, feature, or software product meets performance goals/metrics
  • Leadership
    • Fosters and maintains trust within the team and stakeholders
    • Leads the team by example

Minimum Qualifications

  • 6+ years of professional experience
  • Bachelor of computer science degree or equivalent work experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong facilitation and collaboration techniques
  • Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to present complex ideas simply
  • Experience and knowledge of software development process
  • Extensive understanding of the Agile development process and best practices
  • Knowledge of the principles of product management
  • Self-starter who can come up to speed quickly on our applications, technologies and processes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO)
