Position Overview

The Autodesk Technical Sales Specialist is responsible for organizing and presenting technical industry content / demonstrations at customer facing product seminars & meetings. Such engagements are intended to drive revenue in collaboration with our field sales teams as well as VAR channel. The Technical Sales Specialist must possess the ability to present Autodesk’s Advanced Manufacturing solutions to Manufacturing professionals. The Technical Sales Specialist will perform detailed presentations of Autodesk products in technical, pre-sales environments to audiences both small and large while maintaining an environment of high energy, enthusiasm, and professionalism. The Technical Sales Specialist is expected to use their industry knowledge and understanding of competitive solutions to articulate the value of Autodesk’s solutions. The Technical Sales Specialist thoroughly understands the capabilities of the Autodesk solutions and the business benefits that customers can realize by implementing within their business.

In this role, you will be a Solutions Engineer for the Autodesk Moldflow Software and other Advanced Manufacturing Workflows, providing strategic pre-sales technical advisory services to maximize customers’ return on investment with their Autodesk solutions. You will be able to utilize your combination of industry knowledge, product knowledge and customer focused skills to help customers innovate more quickly and gain a competitive advantage in the marketplace. Location: Home Office – USA

Responsibilities

  • Perform in-depth assessments of customer processes. Investigate, uncover and understand the customer’s business initiatives. Utilize knowledge of business trends, technology, and industry changes to identify areas of opportunity for customer process improvement
  • Capture metrics for quantifying and justifying the customer’s return on investment (ROI) for the purpose of technical closure. Work with Autodesk consulting services when needed for adoption of proposed Autodesk solutions
  • Demonstrate proposed solutions & product overviews and relate them to the customer’s business initiatives. Develop and conduct professional presentations & demonstrations, and lead sales discussions with customers to generate sales of Autodesk solutions
  • Position and sell Autodesk’s unique business values in competitive sales situations against other vendors. Presentations, demonstrations, and discussions may be in-person, web-based, or via other modern, interactive platforms
  • Develops long term customer relationships and achieve customer satisfaction goals. Maintain and grow respected, trusted advisor relationships with customers and members of the Autodesk sales team involved with the opportunity
  • Work with sales teams that support both direct sales and reseller sales channels. Partner with sales representatives to assist in the development, management and execution on strategies and tactics for closing business
  • Support the success of Autodesk resellers by mentoring and training reseller personnel on technical sales activities and execution. Support internal sales and team learning through creation of technical sales content
  • Participates in company sponsored events and tradeshows to promote Autodesk’s solutions and the customer business outcomes they target

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experienced with Autodesk Moldflow or similar product
  • Minimum of 3 years working experience in injection molding related sector
  • Degree level qualification in Engineering / Plastics Technology or similar
  • Strong team spirit, time management, communication & organization skills
  • Regular short travel within USA & Canada and occasionally beyond

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in other aspects of Simulation & Digital Twin capabilities, FEA, CFD etc.
  • Experience in Metal Additive Manufacturing
  • Experience in CAM & CNC sector useful
