Staff Accountant

    Calibre CPA Group PLLC

    Calibre CPA Group is an established and growing public accounting firm, and we are seeking a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team. This Accounting professional will provide monthly accounting and auditing services to our various Local Union clients located primarily in the New York metropolitan area. This position involves frequent travel to client sites. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and enjoys working independently. Training will be provided.

    Overall Responsibilities:

    • Review cash disbursements and vouch to invoices ensuring proper approval and coding into the general ledger.
    • Review credit card receipts for proper supporting documentation and business purpose.
    • Review postings of revenue received such as dues, initiations, etc. to cash receipts and other supporting documentation.
    • Review reconciliations on all cash and investment accounts.
    • Analyze weekly payroll to ensure proper posting into the general ledger including monthly allowances.
    • Reconcile salaries, expense allowances, etc. to quarterly tax filings.
    • Preparation of monthly cash basis financial statements and submittal to the Unions’ governing body.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
    • 3+ years experience in public or private Accounting
    • Labor organization and general non-for-profit accounting experience a plus
    • Experience with QuickBooks a must
    • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize
    • Strong client service orientation
