About the Role
This post is fixed term to provide administration and finance support to the Our Liverpool team to deliver the Council’s Homes for Ukraine scheme, a refugee sponsorship scheme set up by the Department of Levelling Up Housing and Communities (DLUHC) which provides a route for Ukrainian refugees to come to the UK and live with a sponsor who is willing to provide them with a home.
You will be part of the Our Liverpool team, based in the Neighbourhoods Directorate. You will report to the Refugee Resettlement Team Leader and be part of a small and friendly team responsible for delivering the refugee resettlement programmes for the Council. The role is hybrid working 2-3 days each week from the Cunard building.
Responsibilities:
- You will administer payments to sponsors and guests.
- You will keep the Council’s case management system up to date and use the Central Government online portals to prepare and submit financial claims.
- You will oversee, monitor and report against cost centres and budgets and provide regular updates to management, making recommendations in line with council financial procedures.
- You will use council systems (SAP – R3 and EBP), raise invoices, create Purchase Orders and Goods Receipt services daily and keep accurate records for audit.
- You will support the team to deliver events and briefings.
What You’ll Need:
- You will have experience of administrative work particularly in information gathering, producing reports and record keeping.
- You will have experience of maintaining accurate financial records such as using SAP and Microsoft Excel.
- You will be able to organise meetings and prepare agendas, minutes and reports.
- You will be able to create a budget and implement effective budget monitoring procedures.
- You will be able to work to a high degree of accuracy under pressure, meet strict deadlines and be responsive to changing priorities.
- You will be able to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- You will be able to analyse and report upon complex information and data.
- You will have an understanding of the needs and experiences of refugees, asylum seekers and/or vulnerable migrants, alongside local community cohesion issues.
