Job Description

The Opportunity: 

The Sr IT Operations Analyst is a key member of the Business Value Management team in the Global Technology Organization (GTO).  The Business Value Management team provides support across all IT business functions, including Portfolio Governance, IT Business Office, Vendor Management and the Sourcing Management office.  This role falls within the IT Business Office which is charged with managing a $200M+ GTO budget across KTLO (run-the-business), discretionary and non-discretionary spending ensuring GTO is reducing run-the-business spend and maximizing strategic business investments that drive revenue or savings for Mattel.

What Your Impact Will Be: 


  • Consolidation of monthly, quarterly and annual GTO Strategic initiatives ($30-$40M annually) actuals and forecasts working with GTO portfolio leads and PMs
  • Supporting PMO and Portfolio leads with managing financials for GTO Strategic initiatives
  • Management of large and complex maintenance and operating cost centers for the department (KTLO)
  • Communicate performance against financial plan and forecast, and work with team to deliver forecasted results
  • Serve as a key liaison with both Finance and Procurement teams to ensure GTO is following latest Mattel policies and procedures
  • Overall budget trend and what-if analysis for Strategic Projects
  • Process improvement efforts for procurement, budgeting processes
  • Support monthly accruals and re-classes
  • Identify cost savings opportunities with vendor management office
  • Enhance the financial reporting process by streamlining, refining and improving the consolidation process
  • Improve procurement and contract management processes to reduce unnecessary cycles
  • Special projects and preparation of ad hoc financial reporting, as needed


What We’re Looking For: 

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business, Finance, or a technical discipline
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience managing large budgets, forecasts, plans, commitments, accruals, and spend
  • The ideal candidate has a sound financial foundation and is seeking to expand his or her practical business experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with all levels of management, internal and external
  • Experience navigating complex cross-team responsibilities (e.g. IT, Finance, Legal, Procurement, etc.)
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload
  • Problem solver skills with a strong desire to learn and grow
  • High degree of initiative, drive, confidence, and resilience
  • Professional presence, that is flexible and teamwork oriented
  • Expert in Microsoft Excel and Advanced Skills PowerPoint
