About Indiana Finance Authority:

To provide economic efficiencies and management synergies and enable the State of Indiana (“State”) to communicate as one voice with the various participants in the financial markets, the Indiana Development Finance Authority, the State Office Building Commission, the Indiana Transportation Finance Authority, the Recreational Development Commission, the State Revolving Fund Programs and the Indiana Brownfields Program were consolidated into a new and separate entity called the Indiana Finance Authority (“IFA”) on May 15, 2005. The Indiana Health and Educational Facilities Finance Authority was also merged into the IFA, effective July 1, 2007.


This position traditionally starts at an annual salary of $ 40,000.

A Day in the Life:

  • Must be able to work Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (a total of 37.5 hours/weekly)
  • Greet and screen visitors for the 9th Floor
  • Answer and screen telephone calls for IFA; respond to routine inquiries and/or make appropriate referrals
  • Provide administrative support to IFA’s General Counsel, Public Finance Director, and COO
  • Type correspondence, memos, forms, and reports
  • Make copies as requested
  • Send faxes when requested
  • Deliver items or arrange for delivery of items as requested
  • Perform other secretarial duties and related tasks as required
  • Maintain, create, and prepare files
  • Provide administrative support for all IFA Programs
  • Manage electronic files (i.e., scanning, pdf, DjVu compression, etc.)
  • Order periodicals and other items as directed
  • Appropriately distribute incoming mail and other materials for IFA, Board for Depositories, Indiana Education Savings Authority, Trust IN, and Energy & Defense Development.
  • Post meeting notices and agendas as requested for meetings
  • Keeper of master schedule of meetings and conference space
  • Serve as key operator of all office machines, including the performance of routine upkeep (i.e.

adding toner/paper to copy and fax machines) * Maintain inventory of office supplies, equipment supplies, kitchen supplies, etc.

What You’ll Need for Success:

  • High school diploma
  • Office experience or accredited training preferred
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment within established guidelines and procedures
  • Highly organized – able to handle multiple tasks in an extremely fast-paced office
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook
  • Typing skills – minimum 50 wpm
  • Knowledge of office machines
  • Above average clerical skill; knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation
  • Good interpersonal relationship skills: ability to communicate with persons of all educational and social backgrounds
