This position will provide Program Leadership for the OptumCare Mountain West IT Portfolio Management Office, with an emphasis on delivery of the projects related to integrate the Colorado market into the Mountain West Region. This is a critically important program for the growth of the region. The candidate will build and maintain a multi-year program roadmap, oversee the planning and execution of multiple concurrent projects, supervise a team of project managers (both employed and contracted) and lead the associated governance committees.

The position will report directly to the VP, IT Portfolio Management Office for the Optum Care Mountain West Region with a strong working relationship with the Colorado Market IT and Business Leadership.

If you are located Colorado, you will have the flexibility to telecommute as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide council, guidance and support to IT and Market leadership regarding the formation, justification, funding and delivery of technology capital projects that align the Mountain West IT Strategy and the Colorado Market Business Strategy
  • As part of the MW IT Portfolio Management team your project management skills and attention to detail will be used across a spectrum of program and project management activities. Your role will involve a variety of activities that will require skills such as executive leadership, customer service orientation, project management, business analysis, data analysis, project quality, and departmental performance monitoring. You may also be asked to work across different project management methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid
  • Provide program and project management for a variety of medium to large projects – with activities and artifacts including: project scope document, project schedule, IRAADs, status reports, presentations, meeting scheduling, agendas & minutes, roles & responsibilities, quality tracking, issue or conflict resolution, and stakeholder management
  • Create and document performance to quality measures ensuring that our projects are following repeatable, reliable processes and methods.

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in applicable area of expertise or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of experience in Project/Program Management and/or Client Account Management
  • 5+ years of experience in the Healthcare Industry
  • Candidate needs to be based in Colorado
  • Up to 20% Travel as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP certifications
  • 15+ years of experience in Project/Program Management and/or Client Account Management
  • 10+ years of experience in the Healthcare Industry.
  • Experience with the Allscripts products
  • Experience implementing Practice Management and Electronic Medical Records systems
  • Experience managing network infrastructure migrations

Colorado Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $97,300 to $176,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
