About the Role
We the Corporate Finance Team are looking to permanently recruit into a Senior Accountancy Officer post.
This post will be based in the Capital Team to provide accountancy support to Project Officers within the Finance & Resources and Neighbourhoods service areas and to other members of the team.
Candidate qualities required will include:
- ability to manage own workload.
- ability to contribute to a team working environment
- ability to analyse and evaluate data
- high level of computer literacy
- ability to work accurately to deadlines
- ability to react quickly and decisively to changing work priorities
- ability to adapt to future developments
The post is suitable for a candidate who is a Part Qualified Accountant CCAB (preferably CIPFA); or AAT qualified (or equivalent or with suitable qualifying experience).
Candidates are expected to have experience of:
- working accurately with procedures and deadlines in a financial environment and providing advice on those procedures
- preparing budgets and final accounts within a framework of recognised accounting standards
- providing budgetary control and unit cost information
- providing financial information and advice to budget holders / non finance managers
- audited grant claim procedures
- Local Government finance
