The Payments product team is seeking an exceptional Product Manager to build world class card acceptance solutions to strengthen our core capabilities. Moving money is one of PayPal’s core capabilities. Third party card transactions account for the majority of PayPal transactions. PayPal provides a diverse set of payment-related services to merchants, enabling them to accept payments from PayPal users as well as non-PayPal users who have cards (credit cards, debit cards and pre-paid cards). A robust card acquiring platform is necessary to sustain PayPal’s incredible YOY growth. Growing the card platform by enabling new card types around the world is critical for PayPal’s global expansion efforts.

We are looking for a passionate product person who shall be able to challenge the status quo and build innovative products leveraging the power of strategic partnerships. The Card Acquiring Product Manager is responsible for enabling geo-expansion, partner ecosystem management, network compliance, and transaction expense for the North America region. The PM is responsible for key KPI’s of the card acquiring platform, and manages the system with a keen eye to increase availability, and transaction throughput. The PM works in close partnership with a host of cross-functional teams to ensure that the Card platform can support all the requirements of the various PayPal products, within consumer, merchant, POS and marketplaces offerings, being launched in the market. The job requires the PM to build and maintain close working relations with the various processing and acquiring bank partners in the region. The PM is responsible for working with the Payments Compliance and Legal teams to ensure that PayPal is compliant with card network operating rules and the laws of the countries where PayPal is present. The PM also works with Business Operations, Chargeback management, Accounting and various operational teams to ensure that all card acquiring-related processes are functioning smoothly.   • Drive ideation and brainstorming discussion with partners – internal and external, to define innovative products that delight users. 
  • Define requirements, coordinate and lead the successful execution of card payment platform products within the Global Core Payments organization.
  • Develop and launch new products and enhance the quality of the existing products. Track the payment platform and pro-actively monitor product KPIs & identify/close the gaps.
  • Engage closely with the engineering team to help determine the best technical implementation method within the given time and budget.
  • Coordinate with business unit teams to help create the payments ecosystem by exploring innovative opportunities and contributing with creative solutions.
  • Engage in problem solving with the analytics teams to determine trends and root causes.
  • Lead and rally teams to execute complex problems spanning multiple orgs
  • Work closely with the various Operations teams (Accounting, Chargebacks etc) to define processes and best practices for ensuring smooth backend operations
  • Use A/B Testing, analytics, market research, usability studies, and competitive analysis to drive decision making.
  • Partner with Customer Support teams in solving pain points for our users.
  • Partner with legal and compliance teams to ensure the solutions we put out are within the regulatory boundaries.
