A great opportunity for you to join our Corporate Affairs team as a Sr. Manager, Corporate Communications in our New York City, NY office.

As the world’s largest investor in infrastructure and renewable energy, and with a leading presence in commodities, Macquarie Group provides essential services to communities every day and into the future by financing vital climate solutions. We’re looking for a corporate communications professional to help tell our story.

Working as part of a global team and reporting to the Head of Corporate Affairs, Americas, the individual will be responsible for representing Macquarie to the media, including through proactive media pitching and positioning, reactive media and issues management, as well as supporting our ongoing content marketing and social media efforts centred on our activities in the Americas region.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • proactively planning, positioning, developing and executing strategic corporate and business communications initiatives in partnership with business groups.
  • supporting transactions and activities in the Americas through tactical message development, including capital markets, advisory, commodities, asset management and other areas where Macquarie has specific sector expertise.
  • responding to media requests and pitch Macquarie’s executives and expertise to appropriate journalists.
  • working in close coordination with other team members to develop communications strategies in support of brand, sponsorship, events, business and product initiatives across multiple channels such as digital, content marketing and social media.
  • managing time-sensitive reputational issues as they arise, working closely with internal stakeholders.
  • interacting with team members around the world to ensure informed, consistent and coordinated external stakeholder relations and communications.

To be successful, you will have 7-10+ years’ corporate communications experience, including a media relations background, and bachelor’s degree. You will also need experience in developing social media, content marketing and thought leadership.

Additionally, you will leverage your excellent Media relations skills, existing relationships with journalists covering financial services/markets, and experience in developing effective PR strategies and campaigns that deliver strong business results.

You will get the chance to work with a wide range of senior stakeholders, located across the Americas and as part of a global team. Flexibility to travel as needed, attend events as required and to work, if needed, outside of standard office hours.

Finally, a deep understanding of the financial services industry, including knowledge of investment banking, particularly advisory, corporate finance and the capital markets, and knowledge of commodities, energy markets and infrastructure would be a plus.
