Job description: Job DescriptionPOSITION DUTIES – Review and evaluate applications for assembled/reconstructed/ replacement vehicle identification numbers and/or titles for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with applicable statutes and procedures of the department. Receive and process incoming consumer complaints and inspection request referrals pertaining to vehicle dealers, repair facilities and mechanics. Conduct routine in-house complaint investigations against these licensed entities through telephone interviews and evaluation of documentary evidence. Conduct investigations of alleged unlicensed dealers and issue administrative assessments. Issue notices of noncompliance to licensees for violations of the Michigan Vehicle Code, Motor Vehicle Service & Repair Act, administrative rules, and the Garage Keepers Lien Act. Complete written investigative reports for permanent licensee records. Handle telephone inquiries regarding routine technical issues, rules, regulations and department processes. Conduct general compliance record reviews of licensed class “H” foreign salvage vehicle dealers. Perform miscellaneous administrative duties to support the division and office as assigned.APPOINTMENT TYPE/BENEFITS – This position is Full-Time. One year of experience as a supervisor of administrative support activities equivalent to the 9-level in state service.
