Learn more about our in our .Project Overview:An exciting opportunity currently exists for an experienced Lead Civil Engineer – CSA EGS to join Bechtel’s Mining & Metals Project team in Perth, Western Australia, delivering a strategic project for a top tier mining customer.Job Summary:As Lead Civil Engineer, you will conduct field investigations and client interviews to determine work scope and cost estimates for a project’s civil aspects.You will lead design, development, modification, evaluation, and constructability reviews of civil components and processes.Your technical expertise will ensure the unique and complex requirements of a project’s civil/structural aspects are met.Major Responsibilities:

• Plans, schedules, conducts, or coordinates detailed phases of the civil engineering work for a global business unit, a project or staff group to include the preparation of original designs layouts, details, drawings and specifications for structures, building, roadways, railroads, etc.
• Designs, develops, modifies, and evaluates Civil components and processes utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs)​ and Design Control Check List (DCCL) and Design Review Notices (DRNs)​
• Designs structures using advanced knowledge of structural analysis, including statics, dynamics, and materials engineering
• Determines the appropriate use of various structural elements such as steel, wood, masonry, and concrete to ensure appropriate material is used based on load or stress requirements
• Analyzes problems with conflicting design requirements, sketches ideas and possible solutions
• Analyzes and reports on the suitability of unconventional materials, techniques and/or difficult coordination requirements
• Plans, coordinates, or prepares equipment, work and material specifications, bid evaluations and award recommendations
• Prepares procurement and subcontract requisition documents and performs associated technical bid evaluations with award recommendations
• Provides assistance to project and construction management in identifying and complying with project Civil requirements and in addressing issues as they arise during project execution​
• Interface with geotechnical and hydrology consultants

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Requires a bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience​

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Career-level position within field​
• Considered highly skilled and proficient in discipline​
• Seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization, resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways
